Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use an image watermark?
Currently, only text watermarks are supported. Image watermark support (logos, stamps) is on our development roadmap.
Will the watermark cover my content?
The default opacity is 15%, which means the watermark is visible but doesn't obstruct the underlying content. You can adjust this from 5% to 80%.
Can I remove a watermark after applying it?
The watermark is embedded directly into the PDF pages. Once applied and saved, it cannot be removed. Always keep a copy of your original document.

Why Add Watermarks with PDFBuilt?

Watermarking is essential for protecting intellectual property, marking draft versions, and branding professional documents. PDFBuilt's watermark tool lets you customize the text, size, opacity, and positioning to match your needs. Unlike cloud-based watermarking services, your document content remains completely private — the watermark is applied locally in your browser using the pdf-lib library.
